Full-Time Research Assistant (RA) – Urban Resilience & AI (URAI) Lab
Position Overview:
The Urban Resilience & AI (URAI) Lab, led by Dr. Haiyan Hao at CUHK-Shenzhen, seeks a self-motivated Research Assistant (RA) to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of urban resilience, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. The successful candidate will primarily support Dr. Hao’s NSFC Youth Scholar Project (#72404236) and assist with the 1+1+1 CUHK-CUHK(SZ)-GDST Joint Collaboration Fund – Urban Intelligence and Analytics Young Scholar Project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a social sensing database for urban crisis events;
- Conduct data analysis and run computational experiments under supervision;
- Assist in organizing activities, such as workshops and training sessions;
- Support ad-hoc research tasks as needed.
The qualified candidate is expected to:
- Proficiency in Python
- Experiences in urban/data analytics, geo-simulation, GIS, or related methods;
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Preferred (Optional but Advantageous):
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., CNN, LSTM, GAN, GCN)
- Experiences with LLM agent development, API deployment, or cloud computing.
- Strong scientific writing skills, including the ability to create high-quality conceptual figures for publications.

Salary & Benefits
Salary will be comparable to university standards, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-Shenzhen, and employee benefits will be provided according to the relevant labor laws of Mainland China as well as CUHK-Shenzhen regulations.
